On The 2013 Oscars: From Anne Hathaway’s Nipples to Jennifer Lawrence’s Win

Awards Season is finally over and in a way I am a bit relieved. There is so much to keep up with when it comes to this season but we try to stay in the loop.

To the Oscars,

This years ceremony was pretty OK… from Seth Macfarlane as the host to the surprise appearance from Michelle Obama, I think it was a pretty good show. I won’t do a recap because I didn’t see the full ceremony. I just saw the highlights when I got to work this morning. I didn’t even see the red carpet so I’ll get right to it.

ANNE HATHAWAY!!!

First of all, I should say congratulations to her on her win. I expected her to win because her role in Les Miserables was AMAZING… plus she has been winning awards through the season but when I saw walk up to pick her award, all I could see where her nipples.

WHY???

85th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

It is so in our faces!!! What is with the wardrobe malfunctions????

Anyways, to the winners in the main categories

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Christoph Waltz.

85th Annual Academy Awards - Show

I totally saw this one coming. He had a phenomenal role in Django Unchained. I knew he had this in the bag.

(I already spoke about Anne winning Best Supporting Actress when I was commenting on her nipples saga)

BEST ACTRESS: Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer lawrence

I DID NOT SEE THIS ONE COMING. Yea she won at the Golden Globes but this is the Oscars. Jessica Chastain or Emmanuelle Riva. Still I am happy for her. As I watched her stride (and fall) to go get her award, I remembered when she joked about her fellow nominees on Saturday Night Live. Congratulations Jen

BEST ACTOR: Daniel Day Lewis

Daniel Day-Lewis wins his third Oscar for best actor

I think EVERYONE knew he was going to win this award. Enough said here

BEST DIRECTOR: Ang Lee for Life of Pi

85th Annual Academy Awards - Show

OK. I didn’t see this one coming but still he pretty much deserved it. He is known for producing quality movies and I have a strong feeling The Academy has a soft spot for him so congratulations.

BEST PICTURE: Argo

Argo

Yay!!! (Doing the Happy Dance). First of all, this movie was AWESOME. LIKE AMAZING!!! The movie got me hooked from beginning to the end. Also, the movie has had a winning streak all through this season. Plus, after he won the Director’s Guild Award for the movie, I was almost certain he was going to go home with the Best Picture prize. Too bad he got snubbed in the Best Director but still… Go Ben. I am almost certain J.Lo is somewhere wishing she didn’t leave you for Marc.

So that’s my take on this year’s Oscars. I think everyone who got an award deserved to win. Have a wonderful week guys

Peace!

PS:  I”m putting my defenses up, ‘Cuz I don’t wanna fall in love, If I ever did that  I think I’ll have a Heart Attack lol (The song rocks!!!)

  1. I share the same sentiments with you on Jennifer Lawrence’s win. I mean, I enjoyed the movie but I didn’t even think it would get a fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, not to talk of being Oscar worthy. But hey! Who made me an authority, what do I know?
It was a good show. Seth was entertaining. Christoph Waltz, Daniel Day-Lewis, Argo, Anne Hathaway’s dress. Deserving winners.
And yea, Charlize Theron, Halle Berry looked beeeeeautiful! … And so did our sweetheart, Kerry Washington 🙂
